Frustrating Blogger

I know that some of you think that maybe we fell off the planet...we didn't. It's just hard to find time to blog when you are the single parent. PLUS the nice little blogger hasn't like me in awhile so when I have tried to post things...it wouldn't let me. We are back and I promise (Mom, Dad, Robbie, friends, etc.) to be better about posting...just let the blogger be nicer to me :) I tried to post pictures but after waiting 30 minutes for them to load...they still haven't...I will try again tomorrow!! Promise!

Happy Birthday Gabbie!

I can't believe that Gabbie is nine today! I know it's even harder for Robbie. I keep seeing the little 4 year old that I met when Robbie and I first started dating. It's amazing how much she has grown in that amount of time. I am so proud to be her stepmom!!

18 Month Appointment

Lauren had her 18 month appointment on Tuesday. I can't believe that she is already 18 months. Time flies when you are having fun I guess!!! Here are her stats:

Head Circ - 48 cm 90-95% Percentile

Weight - 24 lbs 4 oz 50 % Percentile

Height - 2ft 9.5 in 90-95% Percentile

Not sure where she got the height from. I'm assuming it's probably some of my mom's side of the family since everyone but her and my grandma are tall. She says a ton of words: Momma, Dada, Gabbie, Top, doggy, meow, kitty, bowl, what's this, out, up, bath, bed, cheese, no, yes, I know that there are a ton more but my brain isn't working right now. When I think of all of them I'll let you know!

Japanese Restaurant - Kitakaisen

Last Thursday, the girls and I went to dinner with my friend Erin. We went to a restaurant that neither of us had been to call Kitakaisen. Now I was nervous about going because you just never know how it is going to be. This restaurant was very traditional in the seating. We sat on the floor at the table but it had a lot of dishes that we recognized such as Gyoza, tepanyaki, yakisoba, and fried rice. Also, if you liked sushi this was great. Lauren and Gabbie couldn't get over eating on the floor although they brought lulu a little chair to sit in. Overall, it was a great experience and a place that we'll have to take Robbie when he gets back.

She was laughing so hard

Already a model...what am i going to do?

Isn't her little chair cute?

Shurijo Castle

The other week, we went to Shurijo Castle down in Naha. This castle is Very Very old but has been rebuilt (and is still being built) as it has been destroyed numerous times. Anyways, I am definitely going to have to go back because they were having a New Years ceremony (which is big here in Japan) and we didn't get to see much of the Castle.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone! I hope that you have a great New Year's Eve/Day and that the new year brings you everything that you wish for. We miss you and love you all!!

Southeast Botanical Garden Christmas Light Show

Tonight we went to the Botanical Gardens here. I was sure about the light show because the one earlier this week wasn't so great. This one beat it out of the park. It was so good. We will definitely have to go back next year and take Robbie. Enjoy the pics.

They had cows painted throughout the place, reminded me of the NC State Fair

Look at the detail of the lights

It was beautiful

A covered bridge...look how it glistens over the water

Tonight was probably the coldest night we have had since being here. Lulu was wrapped up tight in her stroller. She definitely enjoyed the lights ooing and ahhing the whole time

Some fishes

Look at the waterfall. The picture doesn't do it justice

This is an oyster with it's pearl inside.

My two Nemo's!

Lulu and I in the tree house. Gabbie's stepdad took her down the slide...i thought it was too steep and two she has cried every other time we have tried to go down. She loved this slide...she ran around to go again. She's too funny.

On the train!

Okinawan Zoo Christmas Light Show

Last Saturday, the girls and I went with Gabbie's Mom and Stepdad to the Okinawa Zoo. Who would have ever thought that there was a zoo on this tiny island and in the middle of the city?!?!?! But there is. The zoo was having their annual Christmas Light Show so we viewed the animals beforehand.

Gabbie and Lulu checking out the animals

I think that this is a monkey

Look it's the guy from Lion King

Say CHEESE!!!

Posing with the pigs (i know you can't see them)

Side Note: The zoo actually had all kinds of animals from giraffes to lions to elephants but I didn't think you wanted to see all of those pics.

Gabbie on a hippo

As we went down to where the light show was to be held, we discovered that it had snowed in Okinawa. Well not completely, just in a little section of the zoo. This was acutal snow made from ice. It looked like snow and was slick just like the icey snow would be. It was just me and Gabbie in the area so the pictures of Lulu are few and far between since she wouldn't let me put her down even with Gabbie to take a picture.
