4 Month Appointment

We took Lauren today for her 4 month appointment. They couldn't give her the shots because of the steriods that she was on so we will have to go back in a couple of weeks to have the shots. Her stats are:

  • Weight - 12 lbs 12 oz - 30%
  • Height - 24 3/4 in. - 30%
  • Head - 42 cm - 75%

Our kid has a big head. Our doctor took her off all of the meds and said she sounds perfectly clear. Thank you for all of the prayers and everything!! Now we just need to pray that our babysitter starts to feel better because I am back without childcare for Lauren until then. Anyone want to help until the sitter is back in commission??? :)

Lauren Update

So it's been a long couple of days. Robbie came out of the field for some days to help me out since the days off of work are very low. She absolutely hated the breathing treatment at first. She would scream through the whole thing. On Thursday, Robbie called me at work and said that Lauren was having a very hard time getting her breathe so I called the nurses line and they told me to bring her immediately. They took us back as soon as we got there and checked her out. The PA that we saw told us that Lauren has bronchilitis. It's similar to bronchitis but it is in the small bronchial tubes. In an adult we would just have a cold but it affects her so much differently. So they changed one of her meds in the breathing treatment and put her on a steroid and also amoxicilin because they noticed that she was getting an ear infection. Needless to say, it's been a long couple of days. Lauren is finally getting the hang of the breathing treatments and has even started to fall asleep while taking them. That is definitely a blessing because it's so hard to hold a crying baby while holding that little mask to her face. My mom and grandma came down this weekend (which was previously planned) and helped us out. i needed to get the house back in order because the realtor is doing an open house next week and Robbie had to get back at work. We go back to the docs on Monday for a 4-month appointment (can you believe it???) and a follow-up appointment. I will try to update everyone and let you know!! Thank you for all the prayers and please continue them!

Breathing Treatments

I noticed a couple of days ago that Lauren had a little cough. It was every now and then and not very constant so I paid attention to it but didn't worry too much. Yesterday at the sitters house she had a HUGE screaming fit, enough that I had to come from work and calm her down. She had been really stuffy and fussy the two days before. So last night I kept hearing her cough. She wouldn't wake up but the cough was very constant. This morning when I went to wake her up her cough had turned into the croupy cough. I knew then it was time to see the doctor.

So after a long morning at the doc's office, we have discovered that Lauren has an upper respitatory infection. Because of her age, the doc decided to put her on breathing treatments so that it doesn't turn into asthma when she gets older. UGH!!! We did one that the doc's offce and she screamed and cried through the whole thing. Do you know how hard this is going to be??? She has to take the medicine to get rid of the infection every 6-8 hours and then after it clears she will have to 2 breathing treatments a day to prevent further infections. At least the nebulizer that we were given at the pharmacy is shaped like a cow. It's so cute and it's carrying case is a barn :) I'll take a picture soon so yall can see how cute it is!

Please say a little prayer that God will heal her quickly. Time off from work is very few since I keep using all of what I earn and Robbie is so busy at work right now it's hard for him to get off too!
